It's time for my final part of my photo series taken at the Astra Museum situated in Sibiu, Romania. It's been a nice journey, a nice journey back in time and I'd like to say thank you to those who were with me. But let's see some photos, the last ones.
A wooden house covered with wooden shingles. These shingles needed to be replaced after a few years as they were not so resistant. There's a little wooden church in my town that dates back to the 18th century. that is also covered with wooden shingles that are replaced from time to time.
There was a well in each establishment, as there was no running water inside the house. This is one type.
Front view of the well.
And this is the other type that was and still is very common at countrysides in Romania.
This is how the main gate looked like those days. One door for people and the big door for the carriages. As you can see, everything was made of wood.
This bench is actually really cool. It's made entirely of a wooden log. I'm not saying it's comfortable, must have been difficult to sit on that hard surface but it looks really great.
Another cute house with one room that served as kitchen and living room as well.
The inside of a mill that was grinding sunflower seeds ans was operated by horses or donkeys. The caretaker told us that sunflower oil was the most commonly used oil during those times.
