A STROLL IN THE CITY | @charmingcherry

"Life is an adventure we should not miss, no matter how messed up the situation is. It is an unending walk through a journey with no idea of what's ahead of us. And I guess the thrill in it is what we are about to find out." - @charmingcherry

I used to say in every travel blog I wrote that I am a very flexible person. You can date me in the middle of the sunset and sunrise. You can sit with me with a greenery scene around us. And it is possible to take me out for a stroll in the city. But I don't think I ever mentioned that I can be my self's best company. No hands holding mine in the middle of the city lights? Yes, I could be that someone.

The sound of the cars moving, and the busy roads where people keep on walking are signs that I already touched down in the city proper. Here in Zambales, the closest city is Olongapo. A quick stroll would not hurt, and I guess here's an entry to the #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay.

This is an ordinary day, but I woke up with the urge of getting myself together, dressing up, and hitting the bus. What I have in mind is that the one-hour ride from our house going to the city might not be worth it as I have no plans in my head.

As I have seen the change in surroundings, from mountains and trees to tall buildings and busy roads, I have realized I'm at the city already. Now it's time to make the best out of it.

Of course, the first thing that comes in your mind when you're in the city is going inside a mall. It was a super hot morning, and I cannot stand walking in the streets with only buildings on my sight. It's time to go in the SM City, a known mall in Olongapo. Since it's only a few steps away from the terminal where passengers from Zambales were dropped off, I did not hesitate to consider walking instead of riding a jeepney.

It only took me a few minutes, and I already saw the sign that says "SM CITY OLONGAPO". I went straight to the entrance door, and had my things and bag checked by the security. And finally, I felt the cold breeze coming from the hundreds of air conditioners working in the mall.

The colorful vibe inside greeted me, and I could not stop myself from taking pictures as I always admired the structure of this mall. I paused for a while before heading to the second floor - grabbed my phone and captured the view from the entrance.

After admiring the colorful scenes, I decided to hop on the escalator going to the second floor where more boutiques and stores are placed. I got excited when I saw some of my favorite brands, yet I did not plan on having a shopping spree, just sight-seeing.

The first thing I saw was the SM Department Store. It did not catch my attention too much, as I was looking for particular brand names while walking. I just paused for a while to capture the store, but decided to continue my stroll.

And viola! I finally found my favorite stores. But sadly, I have no plans on buying anything. I just looked around and checked out the new items that I haven't seen when I last visited the stores. Do you also love Uniqlo, H&M, and GUESS? Hmmm, who wouldn't love them, right?

After the tiring walk through these stores, I decided to find my way down to the ground floor again and started thinking where to eat. As soon as I found the escalator, I hopped into it and waited until it took me to the first floor.

(Note: I'll share where I ate on my next blog, keep posted!)

It's now time to go home, and the stroll is over. I headed towards the exit door, where I saw several people walking in and out the mall too. Most of them were students, and I guess it's their way on spending their free time before their classes start.

But before heading to the bus terminal, I sat down outside the mall and watched the people walking and cars moving. It wasn't too hot so I endured being outside for a few minutes. And I even managed to take a selfie!

Then, I already went home. Took a one-hour ride on a bus, and said "what a stroll!" at the end of the day. I hope you enjoyed a walk with me, even just through reading my blog.

I cannot express how thankful I am to those who have taken the time to read what I have written today. Your support means everything to me. Please acknowledge the sincere thanks I feel for each and every one of you. I hope to see you on my next blog and look forward to it. Sending peace and love! :)
