Dang! That's Good Butterscotch Root Beer is a Butterscotch flavored Root Beer made by Imperial Flavors Beverage Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Imperial Flavors Beverage Company is a family owned business that sells soda concentrates, but also crafts their own specialty sodas. Dang! That's Good is a line of Root Beer and Cream Soda products. I recently picked up a bottle of their best-selling Butterscotch Root Beer version from The Soda Emporium because it sounded interesting. After one sip you will understand why they call it 'Dang! That’s Good'.

The Bottle

The bottle of the Dang! That's Good Butterscotch Root Beer was a 12 fluid ounce, brown glass bottle. The bright orange cap had the words 'Dang! That's Good' as seen in the photo above. Below you can see the label. It seems like they tried to give it a vintage look.

The Soda

Dang! That's Good Butterscotch Root Beer was certainly very interesting. It is made with pure cane sugar and inspired by Werther’s Original butterscotch candies. The soda itself is gluten-free and caffeine-free. It first tasted like an ordinary root-beer but the flavor evolved into a sugary, buttery taste as the liquid reached the palate. It was unlike any root-beer I've ever tried. It reminded me of a cross between cream soda and sarsaparilla. Perhaps I will try more Dang! That's Good sodas from Imperial Flavors Beverage Company in the future.
