I decided when I bought Keystone Ice that perhaps I should try a proper microbrew as a comparison. I bought a can of 10 Barrel Brewing Company's Pub Beer as my counterpoint. 5% ABV. Hipster minimalist can design. Brewed in Bend, Oregon. How can this go wrong?
Well, on contemplating the flavor, I thought to myself, "Gee, this tastes a lot like a Busch beer." This is not what should be coming to mind when drinking a beer from a Northwest Microbrewery. Surely I must be missing something, right?
I went to Google to find out what other people said while preparing this post. Lo and behold, RateBeer lists this as an AB InBev product. Since it's from the same company that makes Budweiser and Busch beer, just buy Busch Copper Lager instead. At least it's honest about what it really is. I would go so far as to say the Keystone Ice was better because it's honest about being a cheap beer.
