# Introduction I started compiling these lists in December 2020 to continue something @pennsif used to do as I think it helps bring the community together. Since then I have found lots more people to include. @HiveSQL has been really useful for this. I use Python with [beem](https://github.com/holgern/beem) (by @holger80) in [a script](https://peakd.com/hive-169321/@steevc/automating-checking-for-active-users-with-python) to generate what you see here. Some of the post is manual as I like to include some commentary and I will keep tweaking it. I am open to suggestions for improvements. In the lists below I break each region into three lists: * Active as above. * Just voting. I will guess that a lot of these use automatic votes, e.g. [HiveVote](https://hive.vote/). Previously there were some that appear to have been compromised as they vote for known abusers. Those are now excluded until I hear that they have recovered control. * Inactive in the last month, but most have done something since Hive started. We can hope to bring them back. I want to count people rather than accounts as some have several. I can include those in brackets if you want. Let me know if you want me to update your listing. You can be as specific as you like about your location. Otherwise I will use what is on your profile. # Commentary We have reached the final list of 2022 after two years of doing this. The total is exactly the same as last month. We gained in some regions and lost in others with a few new people joining Hive over the last month. I have seen a few Hivers become active again after long breaks, but not many from the UK. I always suggest that people at least set up automatic votes if they are not intended to post so that they are still earning and helping spread the rewards. I had an idea of calculating the voting power of the Brits along with how much is not being used. I will work on a script for that soon. I will contact some of my friends who have accounts to see if they plan to return. The low prices may be a factor, but if you are playing the long game then you can keep building your stake anyway. I will be interested to hear how people feel about how Hive has done over the last year as well as their own achievements and what they hope for in 2023. # Meetups We have a [London Meetup](https://peakd.com/hive/@tdctunes/15th-december-hive-london-meetup--tdc-tunes-gig) in two weeks where I hope to meet a few people. Please bring along friends who may be interested in Hive. Some of us can create accounts. Next year I hope to see more events. All it needs is for someone to set a place and time.
