The main character, whose wife is pregnant, puts his capabilities as a fixer of things to work. ### @jennyzee1 [*Hard Choices*](https://peakd.com/hive-170798/@jennyzee1/hard-choices) Curator comment: > @jennyzee1 writes a very agile fiction, a very moving love story that contains very sensitive elements in which the protagonist has the opportunity to differentiate a good love from an insufficient one. The plot is well constructed. It is orderly and well developed. ### @nachomolina2 [*Adapted Glasses*](https://peakd.com/hive-170798/@nachomolina2/fiction-adapted-glasses-oror-anteojos-adaptados-eng-spn) Curator comment: > @nachomolina2 offers an improbable romp occasioned by the protagonist's desire not to wear glasses. The author allows us to see what the severely short-sighted narrator cannot see: he gets off at the wrong bus stop and tries to get in the wrong house. All of this because the optometrist has prescribed a grotesque pair of glasses the narrator refuses to wear. This story is funny. We chuckle as the narrator bumps into a garden gnome and continues to apply vision-blurring eye drops. This is certainly an original take on the fateful day prompt. Nicely done, writers! ## Fiction Writing Prompt of the Week This week's prompt is: "**Boredom**" Boredom is an emotion that everyone experiences at some point, even those who are very busy and over-taxed by the demands of life! It is characterized by feelings of ennui, apathy, and a desire for something more interesting to happen. It is a common human experience that can cause people to do all kinds of things to make things more exciting. The question is: What does your character do when bored? Maybe he drums up activities that incite an entire town to action — like an animal parade or a drumming contest. Maybe he does something that puts himself or others at risk, like trying to create a parachute that allows him to jump off of tall buildings, all in an effort to avoid boredom. Bored children sometimes set up a lemonade stand on a summer afternoon. Bored teenagers sometimes get into trouble. Tell us a story where something funny, frightening or strange happens as a result of boredom! We look forward to reading your stories. Good luck.
