Why I Think the Hunt Platfom is a Special SMT (My Steemhunt Review ...

I decided to do a blog post about steemhunt and say everything that I think about the SMT, more like a personal review. Right now with the kind of waves the hunt platform has been making on the steem blockchain, you can hardly claim to not have heard about them. It's hard to conclude now, but personally, I think that heavy the prospects to become the most successful SMT dapp on the steem blockchain. I didn't just come up with guesswork, I have been on the hunt platform for over 8 months now and I have a deep understanding of their modus operandi and road map. Believe me, no other steem dapp comes close.

What The Hunt Platform Is Really About

The Hunt platform is basically a place where product influencers who love cool and innovative products help the maker to boost their market size. The Hunt platform is a one of its kind on the blockchain technology and so it aims to become that site people would come to on the blockchain to find cool, new and innovative products, thereby bridging the gap between producers and their potential buyers.

It really is that simple and quite unique, one of the reasons I think it will be the most successful app. Talking about their Road map, It's obvious that when you talk about the hunt platform, what comes to most people's mind is Steemhunt. But steemhunt is just one out of the three branches of the Hunt platform economy. Mere hunting for new products daily and getting rewarded doesn't really solve anything, but it's a beginning stage of what they are yet to achieve. They have two other economies, The Reviewhunt ( where producers give hunters task to do in form of bounty) and the Ideahunt ( More like a crowd funding blockchain site where you can fund projects with your hunt tokens).
I have done my share of analysis on these three branches of the Hunt platform economy and I would love to break it down and tell you which I think would be the most important branch.

Steemhunt

Steemhunt plays a very vital role in the growth of the Hunt platform. It is the starting point and sort of the pillar on which the hunt platform is built. I got to know about steemhunt about 8 months ago and I must say a lot of work has been put in place by the dev team. What I love most is the way they reward you accordingly to your daily contributions. Steemhunt initially had a lot of loopholes from which abusers raped the reward pool.

As at when I joined steemhunt, we were ranked according to your hunt post point only, and the 1st received the highest vote, as the vote weight of the steemhunt bot keeps reducing until all the approved hunts for that day were voted. Then to get a tangible upvote from the steemhunt bot, you would need to rank amongst top 20 for that day. Abusers then used alt accounts and Vote for Vote (V4V) to gain daily top ranks and this really discouraged true and dedicated users. With time things changed, and a level system was brought in, where your level determined the weight of upvote you get from the bot and not your ranking. Now your level score was calculated by your honest and positive contributions to the platform. Now a new system has been introduced and I think this system was also a step forward in growing the hunt platform. You now get a vote based on your User Score.

Your user-score is calculated with two variables;
Your HPS (Hunt Power Score, which is basically your hunt tokens stake) x CS (Contribution Score, which is basically your positive contributions and activities on the platform)
If you look at this, you would see that the only addition to this new system was your hunt tokens stake. I see this as the first step in giving the hunt tokens some worth. This makes it more like a priority for you to get more hunt tokens in order to get a better upvote.

Note

Due to the low value of steem, only the top 100 posts and comments on the daily rankings get an upvote from the steemhunt bot.

What I Love About Steemhunt

The User Interface
Steemhunt has one of the best user interface amongst all the steem dapps. It's very easy to understand and needs no tutorials to know how to start using it. Even the search button works better than that of steemit. Steemit makes use of an integrated Google Search button, but steemhunt has their own site search button. The plus sign to post, click on your profile picture for a drop-down list, profile and steemhunt wallet included. Your hunt tokens are in your steemhunt wallet. It is still in the beta stage.
I love the post page, everything you need to input is separated into different fields categorically making it very simple to make a post there. Also at the top of the post page, there is a link to the posting guidelines for newbies.

The Moderation Team
You can't talk about steemhunt without acknowledging all the hard work the moderation team does. They have been consistent with their high standards with little or no flaws. Now this boosts the morale of product enthusiasts (hunters) to be confident when doing the right thing, knowing that they will surely be approved without double standards. Also considering that they do not get steem rewards from the steemhunt team, A big thumbs-up to them.
The Influencer Team
This was one of the checks put in place to check the abuses o the steemhunt platform. Their major role is to help boost undervalued posts up the rank. Due to in the past, people used alt accounts to push up their hunts even though they were not so good to rank high, while more innovative posts by honest users were left to die down below. This also helps boost the morals of honest users, to just make a good post and be sure to make the top hundred in order to get an upvote. The influencers user score is multiplied by 3 and they are constantly reshuffled every 6 weeks so that every positive user gets a chance to become an influencer.
The Competition among Hunters
With the new reward and ranking system, every hunter stepped up their hunting game. Everyone now hunts for the most innovative products so as to make the top ranks. I was once scared that we will run out of products to hunt, but every day, even more, innovative products are found. Now over 46k products have been hunted and still counting.
It Promotes Curation
With the daily curation airdrop in which hunters get hunt tokens according to their curation activities on steemhunt, it promotes hunters to vote on other good products also. A vote on steemhunt is also registered on steemit, So this also aids in growing the reward pool.

What Scares me in Steemhunt

The Hunt platform has been proposed to be a decentralised platform, although they are not yet fully launched, the idea of the dev team still having full control over your hunt tokens in your wallet is really scary. Although the wallet is still in its beta stage, I feel uncomfortable and kind of unsecured knowing that someone else has control over my tokens. I feel it the dev team can have control over your wallet, then some very good hacker would also be able to, this is just a thought though, and not a conclusion.

Reviewhunt

According to the recent announcementby @steemhunt, the Reviewhunt seems to be a well-planned strategy that will draw the interests of many companies and brands. Right now, since the emergence of the internet, influencers have played a major role in helping brands create as much awareness about their product to the market space.

Here, brands will be giving a simple means to buy hunt tokens using fiat, with which they will pay product influencers during bounty campaigns. So specific tasks will be given by brands and companies to product influencers to promote their products on other social media lie YouTube, twitter, facebook, and Instagram and I get paid in hunt tokens by the brand according to how well the task was performed.
According to the announcement, the beta version of reviewhunt will launch in February 2019.

Ideahunt

No official announcement has been made about the launch of this, but it is the branch I look forward to the launch the most. I think this will be the most important branch in the hunt platform. This will basically encourage new products and innovations on the blockchain. This will be like a crowdfunding site, where makers run funding campaigns for their product proposal and hunters fund it with their hunt tokens. This definitely will bring about more innovations on the steem blockchain. And also make hunt tokens holders be early adopters of new innovative products in the market.

With all these, I hope you now see reason with me why I think the Hunt platform will be the most successful SMTs after launch.
