The 24th of June marks the birthday of San Juan (St. John) – the patron saint of Benalmadena. Part of the celebration was a week of Fun Fair (Feria in Spanish) in the park.
Last night, after dinner, I thought I would go and have a look. It was not very busy when I got there – about 10 pm. There was still light, and I guess things were just beginning to get going.
The venue was quite big. There were a fair number of stalls. There was the usual fare found in all Fun Fairs – games, rides food and drinks… There was a disco too. And there was a tent for cultural performances.
I took a couple of videos of the rides but the audio was awful.
I didn’t stay very long. Had a walk-through and then called it the night. By the time I left, there were a lot more people.
The visit brought back childhood memories of the excitement of going to a fair. It was a pleasant evening, something different from the norm, but nothing special.
It was rather noisy and loud as fairs usually are. This old soul prefers a quiet drink somewhere else.
