Hey Guys!
It's been a while since my last garden update I'm hoping I can do a vlog soon now that the lawn's looking tidy.
The yard has been a jungle lately and I've been too scared to go out and check things out. Luckily hubby mowed yesterday and I managed to get out there and grab a few things before it started raining.
'Apollo' tomato
Hubby's pride and joy.
We've tried to plant several type of tomatoes over the years but they've never been "right" one way or another. It was only after a bit of research and Bunnings hopping that we finally found this particular type.
Taste wise it's like a normal tomato. I'm no tomato connoisseur ~ theyre all pretty much the same to me except for the sizes. Hubby's really happy with it (he knows what hes looking for), I'm happy I no longer have to buy tomatoes, plus theyre organic!
Spring Onions
A few years ago I started going off onions. Out of nowhere I was suddenly unable to eat red and brown onions. Not quite sure what happened there but I've had to find onion alternatives. The two I can still eat are the white onions and these spring onions.
I just cut handfuls of the green bit whenever I need them and they just keep growing back. I've never used the white bit close to the root system only cos Im not sure if that will ruin my plant or not.
Strawberries
Y'all. We've got strawberries coming out of our ying yangs over here. The problem is getting to them on time.
With the lawn being a jungle over the past few weeks I havent been able to harvest and I found heaps of old strawberries on the ground but as always there's always a few pieces ready to eat, and a few more ready in a day or two.
Calamansi
Omg. Finally. After at least 4 years of no fruit, our calamansi (Philippine lemon) tree is back on track!
That means I can cook some of my fave filipino dishes again!
There's a few other goodies in the garden but I reckon that's a vlog job.
Well, that's all from me today. I hope youre all having a great Wednesday!
