I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay. There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here mainly because I find them an interesting way to look back at the past.
This set starts a brand "new" batch. I don't know a whole lot about the ultimate origins of these slides other than they came from Goodwill. Like previous batches, these too often have a date stamped on them that I assume indicates when the film was developed and should in most cases give approximate dating for the photograph itself.
All of the photos in this set were processed in August 1970. The first photo shows some pathway through trees, some of which have been cut down. There's a fence too but no idea really what this photo is supposed to be showing.
The second photo shows a small child sitting on a chair. The décor definitely looks late 60s/early 70s.
Google's image search came to the rescue for me for the third photo. I'm sure those that have toured Italy probably recognize this building but I've never been there. This is the Pisa Baptistery in the Piazza dei Miracoli near the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
And of course the last photo is probably recognizable my most people as it is in fact the Leaning Tower of Pisa, presumably taken at the same time as the third photo. I doubt these building look all that much different today than they did in 1970.
