2 Key Areas Zilliqa Identified Weakness in the Ethereum Protocol and Improved It

Zilliqa and Ethereum are two smart contract platforms that both have similar utilities. However, there are some key differences which Zilliqa implemented to try and improve smart contract operability.⁣⁣
⁣⁣

  1. The DAO hack on Ethereum was caused by a bug in the smart contract programming language 'Solidity'. In order to eliminate the possibility of this happening, Zilliqa's smart contract language is NOT Turing complete. This means it's function is limited and it cannot do everything. This makes the possibility of using the code to break into the network negligible. ⁣⁣
  2. Zilliqa implements transactions sharding while Ethereum aims to implement state sharding. Simply put, transaction sharding creates shards which then go into a block while state sharding makes the entire chain divide into shards. State sharding is not yet a possibility, but when it is, it will undoubtedly change the pace of blockchain transacting.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Ethereum is currently better placed (in terms of traction) to become the leading smart contract network of the future. But it faces fierce competition from lesser known players with a solid product.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Follow @reverseacid for more crypto information and discussion
