There are just so many times when people speak about marriage these days, often says it is just a piece of paper, and if two does not have the same kind ideal vision, usually they ended up parting ways with a stroke of a pen on a divorce paper.
But not for this family.
This family has a lot of kids under their years of fruitful marriage, and things were well until the husband fell ill due to heart complications.
Raju has always been the strongman of the family of 10, supporting his wife and kids with his aging mother at home. But things did not turn well for him as he became ill and was no longer able to sustain his regular job.
Now with his wife finding a job as a cleaner at one of the outreach schools, their monthly household income is only 1,000 MYR (USD 241.82 according to today’s exchange rate).
With such little wage feeding 7 growing children, and elderly mother and an un-well husband, there’s just not enough healthy food placed on the table.
These are the rare glimpse of simple folks in this developing country that warms (and saddens) our hearts when things went hard things come they do not abandon each other.
This truly question us who, many not have a lot, but lives much better than these folks, have to say when hard times strikes us? Will the family abandon one another, as we keep seeing divorce rates increasing as countries progress further into modernisation ?
There were extra 2nd hand / unwanted nice clothes for them to choose from for the kids
Now Raju’s wife works for the school while he stays at home taking care of the kids and the mother, and with whatever we have here in the Food Bank, we provide the relevant necessities until the storms in this family passes.
