MUSIC WITHOUT WORDS - Images of The Shadow Casters, Live at The Jade in Adelaide, South Australia

Except what I say below.

The Shadows were Cliff Richard's backing band. The Shadow Casters are Adelaide's very own version of them, down to the outfits, instruments, and of course, the music. As an entirely instrumental ensemble, the band play surf-rock that is easy listening and has some awesome bass lines for people to groove to!

I photographed The Shadow Casters at The Jade as part of their sold out Fringe shows for 2021. Sold out means just that in Adelaide, we've got no restrictions as a result of some pretty decent containment measures for COVID-19, which enabled local performers to get out and do what they do best - perform!

I'd love to capture more performance work in the future. I was frantically changing lenses, shifting my positions constantly, and keen to get some shots for the band to remember their 2021 sold out set lists!

The lighting for these images was static, but I shot using a mixture of aperture priority, and manual. It was a great experience, and I am very grateful for the decent tracking on my new Z6 camera body!
