pFriem IPA: An Amateurish Beer Review

It's been a while. Hi. I'm Jacob, and I occasionally write about beer. This is an IPA from pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River, Oregon. I didn't stop at their HQ during my Columbia River road trip. Maybe next time?

I like this. It's different. Most Pacific Northwest IPAs are bitter and hoppy. This one has a pine note up front, but fades to a malty sweetness. It's almost more like the few European beers I've tried.

The stats: 6.8% ABV, 65 IBU. The bitterness isn't that apparent to me, though.

IPA lover, rejoice! Aromas of peach and papaya, with refined notes of pine and lychee fruit await you.

I spent the evening at @generikat's place celebrating her brother's birthday, so there was plenty of bullshitting and bragging around the bonfire. Good times.

If you run across this brewery's offerings, give 'em a try. There are so many options besides megacorporation pisswater. Life is too short to drink boring beer!
