I haven't purchased or powered up any LEO or POB in sometime. In fact I been taking it rather easy the past week or two and haven't done much trading of HIVE assets. I haven't even maintained my Splinterland rentals which have seen a drastic drop. All that is ok because we all need to take a step back and enjoy some of the other things in life that help us rejuvenate ourselves. I did just that and now its time to start pushing forward again with stacking HIVE assets. At the end of the month I want to power up a few hundred LEO and at least 1000 POB so its off to the markets I go to place some Buy Orders for both tokens. The first (LEO) is just a small 50 Buy Order as I already have a 250 LEO buy order pending. I'll pick up small amounts of LEO here and there but once January has come and gone I'll be looking to substantially up my LEO holdings. The same is true for my POB holdings. I plan on completing a 1000 PowerUp of POB the first of next month. I have 677 of liquid POB so I only need 333 more and thus the reason for my POB buy order.
Opening Chaos Legion Packs
This will likely come as a surprise to many but to date I have only opened ONE Chaos Legion Booster Pack. I'm still undecided on what to do with Chaos Legion. If I max a set I will likely buy individual cards from the market but with Chaos Legion being newly introduced and General Sale not in full swing yet I believe its best (financially) to wait until the Chaos Legion cards find their true market value before I make any set in stone decisions. For that reason I have mostly just held my small CL Pack supply. Opening packs is fun so I can't resist opening just a few. So here we go, lets open some and see what we flip.

Pack Opening Thoughts:
I normally don't have much luck with opening packs but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened that first pack. I managed to get three Rares and one Epic. One of those rares ended up being a summoner (Thaddius Brood). Opening Pack two my luck continued and I managed to flip two Rare monsters and one Epic which has the blast ability (Prismologist). With being so lucky in my first two openings I decided to push my luck and open a third. My luck ran out, the standard one RARE and four Commons were flipped. Luckily the cards flipped are still of interest with their cool looking art and in game capabilities.

Chaos Card Spotlight
Forgotten One, a monster that is part of the Fire Splinter and is an Epic. This card has a mana cost of nine but with stats like a Four Mele attack, Two Speed while sporting Eight Health and Four Armor its easy to see why. If that wasn't enough it also has the ability known as Immunity which allows this card to be immune to any negative status effects. Its gets to have all this awesomeness at Level One.

Forgotten One Lore:
For an age the towering beast had slumbered in the bowels of the deepest caverns of fire, a weapon forged for a war lost to memory or myth.
Into an invocation drawn from a rotting manuscript the High Magus of the Crypteia poured all his malice and hate. Drawing the razored flint across his palm he sealed the pact, completing the summoning, calling forth the great flaming homunculus, the Forgotten One.
As the great beast crawled from the burning pit, the Magus bade it roam free and armed it with a broad blade twice as tall as any man. It dwells there now, birthing others of its kind and passing on the knowledge of their making, and serves at the pleasure of the Magus as a hand of Chaos.
Of those that remained in the high vaulted chamber, the wizard's council stood in unison, confronting the hex bound High Magus of the Crypteia Turbulum, detailing his blasphemous crimes and sentencing him to death. As one they began the great working that would end him and repair his damage to the veil.
They were at first surprised and confused by his mad cackling laughter until the great flaming form emerged from the living rock. As the beast roared, the Magus' cackling rose hysterically as the council scattered in terror. Lore taken from official Splinterlands site.
