As long as I remember, I always felt great sympathy for Nyx - the very embodiment of the night.

Although Nyx was not widely revered, and nothing is known about her temples, the goddess of the night still remained one of the most powerful on Olympus. She was created by Chaos himself, and the night in turn, according to some texts, was the beginning for everything else. Even Zeus feared Nyx's wrath.
In the myths of Nyx, as a goddess, the personification of the night was one of those who stood at the very beginning of the universe. She is one of the driving forces that made everything creature appear.
