Food blogs usually have 15 paragraphs of irrelevant backstory before giving a recipe. Let's not do that. Here's a photo followed by quick-and-dirty directions to make spicy sauce!

Sauce Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground pork sausage (mine was pre-seasoned hot Italian sausage)
- 2 cans (15 oz. ea.) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) stewed tomatoes (I used "Mexican style" stewed tomatoes with green chilis)
- 1 zucchini, diced
Directions
Brown sausage in a large skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula while it cooks. Add zucchini and canned tomatoes. Break up stewed tomatoes while stirring everything together. Let it simmer so tomatoes can heat through and zucchini can soften.
Meanwhile, bring water to a boil and prepare your favorite pasta. I used rotini noodles because they are fun. I have much more sauce than needed for the 2 cups of dry noodles I boiled, so I may try some other shapes later on.
What do you think, lazy or genius? My midnight can-can cuisine works for me. This batch has some kick to it despite the basic tomato sauce, so my version is not for the faint of heart! I was a good midnight snack when I started composing this post, and it will be a good lunch for tomorrow at the library.
