I wish for all of you, 2020 to be a wonderful and fulfilling journey, filled with love and light!
For this very first #happynewmonth post of 2020 I have something a little different from my usual topics. And a little more playful, I might add :)
A few days ago it was my name day and some presents come along with it! The most original was from one of my oldest friends. And it was quite surprising that 40 years after the era that we played with kid's toys, he offered me a toy car!
Actually it is a replica of a 1948 Tucker Sedan, a model that was completely unknown to me until the moment I googled it! It turned out to be a revolutionary car with the most turbulent history!
The Tucker 48 (named after its model year) is an automobile conceived by Preston Tucker and briefly produced in Chicago in 1948. Only 51 cars were made including their prototype before the company was forced to declare bankruptcy and cease all operations on March 3, 1949, due to negative publicity initiated by the news media, a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation and a heavily publicized stock fraud trial (in which the allegations were proven baseless and led to a full acquittal).

If you are interested in the story itself you can find tons of information on the net, but this is not an educational post. It is about my new toy that I took with me on my first walk of the year and had some fun taking pictures of it!
Since Christmas I am on vacations and as usual (for the past six years that I live on Crete) the new year have found me on "travel mode". The thing is that the first week of our winter vacations is always dedicated to family and friends gatherings, which involve absurd quantities of food and endless hours hanging-out and not really any time for taking pictures and writing posts! So you'll have to wait a little longer for an update on my travel plans!
I can tell you though, that my today's photo-shooting took place in Athens, on the Filopapou hill, very close to the ancient Acropolis. And I can also tell you that now, that I am writing those lines, I have already left Athens for the first trip of the year!
If you haven't heard of my #happynewmonth posts before, they are an excuse and an an exercise at the same time. An excuse to send my, hopefully interesting, photographic greetings and a challenge to do so with pictures I took the same day, no matter were I am or what the weather conditions are!
It is a challenge I made up for myself, more than 3 years ago, before I join steemit and I have become very fond of it. If you are a photographer or any other kind of creative, I invite you to join the challenge and use the #happynewmonth tag. No prices, just for the fun of it! @sjarvie5 has already joined (thank you Sara!) and I would love to see more people taking part and sharing their new month greetings!
I guess that was as close to a free write as have ever been, I hope you enjoyed it, I sure did :)
Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.
