Mondays suck.
The world is a cold, cold place.
Fix it with a warm internal hug.
Soup is that hug, and pumpkin soup is like a hug from a grandma.
I don't care how bad ass you think you are, everyone loves a good hug from a grandma.

-Unless you're this kid.
Stone. Cold.
Back to warm things...
This soup guys. Winter is fast approaching and this soup will keep the White Walkers at bay.

Ingredients:
Serves 4
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive oil
- 1 white onion, diced
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp honey
- 400 grams pumpkin, peeled and cubed
- 2 liters chicken or vegetable stock
 Salt to taste.
Toppings:
- Cream or yoghurt
- Toasted sesame and sunflower seeds
- Chilli flakes
- Turmeric
- Black pepper

Method
- In a large pot, saute onions and spices in olive oil over a low heat until onions are translucent and spice aroma fills your house. This ain't no punk'n spice latte, kids- we gots cayenne.
- Add pumpkin and stock and simmer over a medium heat until pumpkin is soft and the stock is reduced by half. This takes about 45 minutes to ensure your soup comes out smooooth.
- Puree with an immersion blender until silky- pass through a sieve if you want it even smoother, I like a tiny touch of texture, though.
- Ladle into oven-warmed bowls and top with a spoonful of cream or yoghurt, a sprinkling of seeds and a dusting of chili flakes, turmeric and black pepper.

- Find a soft, fluffy blanket.
- Find a series worth binging
- Eat 4 servings of soup over the course of 13 episodes and fall asleep with an orange moustache.
