Recent Netflix research into the viewing patterns of users showed that there is a certain pattern that viewers will exhibit when they go about watching television shows on the platform. And it also showed that users like to take a short movie break before getting started on investing their time consuming another television program.

Netflix found that 59% of its users prefer to pause for roughly three days before they decide to begin watching another program.

Rather than taking a break from Netflix and their entertainment service altogether for those few days, roughly 61% of consumers were shown to instead opt for watching movies rather than television shows.
The Netflix research also suggests that viewers will move on to explore issues that they see on television shows, to see how they played-out in real life. For example, after watching a number of television shows, they might then turn to educational documentaries in order to learn more about the topic.

But viewers weren't always seen to look for similarly related entertainment options when they go browsing for one project after another. Sometimes they would break with their genre that they were watching, say a horror film, in order to refresh things with something like a comedy flick.

Netflix already has well over 1 million subscribers and is expected to add millions more not only in the U.S. but internationally as well. Some of the most popular shows that are streaming on the platform right now are:
House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Gilmore Girls, Mad Men, Bates Motel, Full House, Narcos, Orange is the New Black, Jessica Jones, and plenty of others.
They also have a large collection of comedy specials, along with many classic movies and current film hits. Among them are options like: Good Will Hunting, Clueless, Titanic, the Lorax, Guardians of the Galaxy, Shawshank Redemption, and many more.

Netflix changed the game by providing viewers with all of the episodes of their favorite television shows up-front, they no longer need to wait for one episode to be dropped every week for several months; now they can finish an entire season in just a few days. And it's no surprise that this sort of entertainment service has exploded in popularity over the last several years.
When Netflix first started, they only had about 1,000 films and now they have thousands of great options available for their users. Not only that, but Netflix also produces much of their own original content.
