They say, "You see Naples and die", but what about Castellammare di Stabia? No one seems to be so interested in this beautiful town, but trust me when I say it's more than worthy and is only 15-minutes far from Naples. I was lucky enough to visit it at the end of October 21, when not many tourists were around, the weather was warm but most important, great food was available in every corner of the city. But today I don't wanna talk about the obviously special food you unavoidably end up eating like no tomorrow when in Campania; not at all, today I'll share with you a selection of shots I took of the sea side, the port, and some city views among the valleys. I gotta admit, I was not used to this sight of the Vesuvio; usually all the postcards and views are from the opposite side, the one you can admire from Naples, indeed, but Castellammare is located further south, so you can see the volcano from the opposite side. It's still beautiful, just new and strange in a certain way. It was particularly great to see how the foggy air was almost hugging the volcano walls, making an atmosphere of magic.

Facing the sea, on the right side the Vesuvio sight was just a little piece of the amazing puzzle I will talk to you about in this post. Here indeed a small group of sailing boats captured my attention and I could not but taking a bunch of pictures of them, which were difficult to select, I gotta say!

To complete the frame, a cute puppy suddenly jumped into my pictures and the landscape was definitely complete at that point. The atmosphere was just so calm and pure that for a moment I forgot all the pandemic situation, all the bad news, all the shit we were going through for the past two years... Just for a moment, I felt happy, for real, with the good company of my fiancé, the sea and a sky to photograph.

To accompany the sunset, a group of kayakers were training around the port and almost like they wanted to show off their skills, they pass by the spot on the sea rocks from which we were taking photos and just enjoying the golden hour. I've never seen kayakers going through the port, it must be because they have the school and training club inside the port itself.

That day the sunset was particularly beautiful because the warm colors of the sun setting were contrasting the darkness and cold colors of the sky full of clouds, giving us the dream-like sensations.

Dicono "Vedi Napoli e muori", ma che dire di Castellammare di Stabia? Nessuno sembra essere così interessato a questa bellissima città, ma credetemi quando dico che è più che degna di essere visitata e dista solo 15 minuti da Napoli. Ho avuto la fortuna di visitarla alla fine di ottobre, quando non c'erano molti turisti in giro, il clima era caldo ma soprattutto, ottimo cibo era disponibile in ogni angolo della città. Ma oggi non voglio parlare del cibo ovviamente speciale che inevitabilmente finisci per mangiare come non ci fosse un domani quando sei in Campania; niente affatto, oggi condivido con voi una selezione di scatti che ho fatto al mare, al porto e ad alcuni scorci della città tra i vicoli. Spero vi piacciano!

Devo ammettere che non ero abituata a questa vista del Vesuvio; di solito tutte le cartoline e i panorami sono dal lato opposto, quello che si può ammirare da Napoli, appunto, ma Castellammare si trova più a sud, quindi si vede il vulcano dal lato opposto. È ancora bellissimo, solo nuovo e strano in un certo senso. È stato particolarmente bello vedere come l'aria nebbiosa abbracciasse quasi le pareti del vulcano, creando un'atmosfera magica.

Di fronte al mare, sul lato destro la vista del Vesuvio era solo un piccolo pezzo del fantastico puzzle di cui vi parlerò in questo post. Qui infatti un gruppetto di barche a vela ha catturato la mia attenzione e non ho potuto fare a meno di scattare loro un sacco di foto, difficili da selezionare, devo dire!

Per completare l'inquadratura, un simpatico cucciolo è improvvisamente saltato nelle mie foto e il paesaggio era decisamente completo a quel punto. L'atmosfera era così calma e pura che per un momento ho dimenticato tutta la situazione della pandemia, tutte le cattive notizie, tutta la merda che stavamo attraversando negli ultimi due anni... Solo per un momento, mi sono sentita felice, davvero, con la buona compagnia del mio compagno, il mare e un cielo da fotografare.

Per accompagnare il tramonto, un gruppo di canoisti si stava allenando intorno al porto e quasi volessero sfoggiare le proprie abilità, passavano davanti al punto in cui, sugli scogli da cui stavamo scattando le foto e solo godendo la golden hour. Non ho mai visto canoisti passare dal porto, deve essere perché hanno la scuola e il club all'interno del porto stesso.

Quel giorno il tramonto era particolarmente bello perché i colori caldi del tramonto contrastavano con l'oscurità e i colori freddi del cielo pieno di nuvole, regalandoci delle sensazioni oniriche.
