**```VERSION ENGLISH```** **Greetings to everyone in this loving community, after a few months away for personal reasons, I am back again to share with you this pleasant experience in the activity held in commemoration of International Cat Day 2023, on August 8 at the Plaza Los Palos Grandes Municipality Chacao in Caracas Venezuela.**

**```VERSION ESPAÑOL```** **Saludos a todos en esta amorosa comunidad, después de unos meses ausente por temas personales, estoy de nuevo de vuelta por acá para compartirles esta grata experiencia en la actividad realizada en conmemoración del Día Internacional del Gato 2023, el pasado 8 de agosto en La Plaza Los Palos Grandes Municipio Chacao en Caracas Venezuela.**

The first thing I want to tell you is that I didn't know that there was a cat's day and that it was not only a day of celebration, but that there are two more, because with our feline friends we celebrate three times a year. These days are: August 8, October 29 and February 20 and basically these celebrations have as main objective to reflect and create awareness about the importance of caring for our feline pets. The main reason for celebrating August 8 is because it coincides with the time of peak fertility in the northern hemisphere, this date was designated by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002 (IFAW, for its acronym in English). On the other hand, the precursor of the celebration of October 29th of each year, was the pet care specialist Colleen Paige, who promotes awareness to prevent abandonment in the streets and the sterilization of cats. Another date is February 20 and this was a tribute in commemoration of the Clinton family cat, who was the first pet to enter the White House. Also in Europe they have February 17 as World Cat Day.

Lo primero que les cuento es que no sabía que existía el día del gato y que no solo era un día de celebración, sino que hay dos más, porque con nuestros amigos los felinos festejamos tres veces al año. Estos días son: el 8 de agosto, 29 de octubre y 20 de febrero y básicamente estas celebraciones tienen como principal objetivo es reflexionar y crear conciencia sobre la importancia del cuidado de nuestras mascotas felinas. El motivo principal de festejo el 8 de agosto viene dado porque coincide con la época de mayor fertilidad en el hemisferio norte, esta fecha fue designada por el Fondo Internacional para el Bienestar Animal en 2002 (IFAW, por sus siglas en inglés). Por otra parte la precursora de que se celebre el 29 de octubre de cada año, fue la especialista en el cuidado de mascotas Colleen Paige, quien promueve la conciencia para evitar el abandono en las calles y la esterilización de los gatos. Otra de las fechas es el 20 de febrero y esta fue un tributo en conmemoración del gato de la familia Clinton, que fue la primera mascota que entro en la Casa Blanca. También en Europa tienen al 17 de febrero como Día Mundial del Gato.

After this brief introduction I continue with my story: on Monday I received through social networks the invitation to celebrate Cat Day in the community, sponsored by @alcaldiachacao and @saludchacaooficial (IG) along with several merchants, entrepreneurs and foundations in the area.

Luego de esta breve introducción continúo con mi relato: el lunes me llego por las redes sociales la invitación a celebrar el Día del Gato en la comunidad, patrocinado por @alcaldiachacao y @saludchacaooficial (IG) junto a varios comerciantes, emprendedores y fundaciones de la zona.

It all started on Tuesday at 9 am, I arrived at 12 noon, because I had a commitment in the morning, however were two very enjoyable hours sharing with loving people who bought things for their pets at the booth, listening carefully to the talks and what I liked most was to know who they were and what they did people from the Crystal Cats Foundation @gatos_decristal (IG)

Todo comenzó el martes a las 9 de la mañana, yo llegue a las 12 del mediodía, pues tenía un compromiso en la mañana, sin embargo fueron dos horas muy amenas compartiendo con personas amorosas que compraban cosas para sus mascotas en los stand, escuchar atenta las charlas y lo que más me gusto fue conocer quiénes eran y que hacían las personas de la Fundación Gatos de Cristal @gatos_decristal (IG)

That day the foundation took the rescued kittens who are currently in temporary homes awaiting adoption. The babies were the first to be adopted, the older ones are still waiting for a loving heart to receive them.

Ese día la fundación llevo a los gatitos rescatados y que actualmente están en hogares temporales a la espera de adopción. Los bebes fueron los primeros en ser adoptados, los de mayor edad siguen a la espera de un corazón amoroso que los reciba.

I love this kind of activities because they provide information about pet education, even more in my case, I am learning how to live with and take care of a cat, being a new member of the family. I am also sensitized to the issue of rescuing our little friends from the streets and that they can be cured, vaccinated and dewormed, providing solutions for them and for the community.

Este tipo de actividades me encantan porque proporcionan información sobre la educación de las mascotas, más aun en mi caso, que estoy aprendiendo sobre como convivir y cuidar a un gato, siendo este un nuevo miembro de la familia. Además me sensibiliza el tema de rescatar de las calles a nuestros amiguitos y que los puedan curar, vacunar y desparasitar, aportando soluciones para ellos y para la comunidad.

There are a large number of cats living in the area around the Parque Cristal Shopping Center and they are the ones that this foundation is lovingly locating.

Existe una gran cantidad de gatos que viven en los alrededores del Centro Comercial Parque Cristal y son ellos los que esta fundación amorosamente están ubicando.

I couldn't stop pampering our beautiful Paris, so to celebrate we gave her a brush to remove excess hair, we took the opportunity to pet her and play while we learned how to use the brush and she experienced something new.

No podía dejar de consentir a nuestra bella Paris, así que para celebrar le regalamos un cepillo para quitarles el exceso de pelos, aprovechamos para acariciarlo y jugar a la vez que aprendíamos a usar el cepillo y ella experimentaba algo nuevo.
