After having had a very intense few days in the town of Barreal, doing everything I had planned and more, it was time to return home. Well, "home" was a way of saying to the hostel in San Juan Capital where I was living at the time. This ride to this town 250 km away was planned a bit over time thanks to the fact that I had a few days off from work, and being able to take advantage of them to walk around was a great decision. I felt fulfilled because I saw everything I wanted to see, and this place at the foot of the Andes Mountains will always be special to me ❤️.
Después de haber tenido unos días muy intensos en el pueblo de Barreal, haciendo todo lo que tenía planeado y más, fue momento de volver a casa. Bueno, "a casa" era una manera de decirle al hostel de San Juan capital en el que vivía en ese momento. Este paseo hasta este pueblo a 250 km fue planeado un poco sobre la hora gracias a que tuve unos días libres en el trabajo, y poder aprovecharlos para pasear por ahí fue una gran decisión. Me sentí realizada porque ví todo lo que quería ver, y este lugar al pie de la Cordillera de Los Andes siempre va a ser especial para mí ❤️.
Generally in every trip I make I always end up meeting someone to spend the days with, either walking, doing some trekking or just having some mates. In the case of this trip, this was a little different: the town of Barreal was not as touristy as other places, so I didn't meet many people on the way. Anyway, I always enjoy my solitude and having time with myself to explore what I want when I want. I didn't feel lonely at all, on the contrary, I enjoyed the experience ❣️.
Generalmente en cada viaje que hago siempre termino conociendo a alguien para pasar los días, ya sea paseando, haciendo algunos trekkings o simplemente tomando algunos mates. En el caso de este paseo, esto fue un poco diferente: el pueblo de Barreal no era tan turístico como otros lugares, entonces no me crucé con mucha gente en el camino. De todas formas, siempre disfruto de mi soledad y de tener tiempo conmigo misma para explorar lo que quiero cuando quiero. No me sentí sola para nada, al contrario, disfruté la experiencia ❣️.
That day I had a bus to return at noon, so I took advantage of the bike to do a few last laps around town before I had to return it. Something that caught my attention in Barreal was that it did not have the typical building distribution: a central square and the buildings such as church, school, town hall and police station around it. On the contrary, all these places were a bit scattered. I guess its construction and subsequent growth was not very planned, but all the buildings that had to be there were there 😃.
Ese día tenía micro para volver al mediodía, así que aproveché la bicicleta para dar unas últimas vueltas por el pueblo antes de tener que regresarla. Algo que me llamó la atención de Barreal era que no tenía la típica distribución edilicia que hay siempre: una plaza central y los edificios como iglesia, escuela, municipalidad y comisaria a su alrededor. Al contrario, todos estos lugares estaban un poco desparramados. Supongo que su contrucción y posterior crecimiento no fue muy planificado que digamos, pero todos los edificios que tenían que estar, estaban 😃.
Of all the places I saw during those days, my favorite was the viewpoint towards the Andes Mountains. I liked this place so much that I decided to come back one more time so that one last postcard would remain in my memory. Everything in this place was like a big picturesque painting, with the mountains and the river running in the background. Besides, since it was not so crowded, you could appreciate all the sounds totally clean and the landscape was clear 💕.
De todos los lugares que vi esos días, mi preferido fue el mirador hacia la Cordillera de Los Andes. Este lugar me gustó tanto que decidí volver una vez más para que me quede guardada en la memoria una última postal más. Todo en este lugar era como un gran cuadro pintoresco, con las montañas y el río corriendo de fondo. Además, al no ser tan concurrido se podían apreciar todos los sonidos totalmente limpios y el paisaje bien despejado 💕.
But that midday, I wasn't the only one hanging around that place. While I was eating my lunch, two slightly hungry friends also approached me. My sandwich was not that big, but it was still enough for the three of them. These dogs stayed with me the whole time I was there and also accompanied me to the river to touch the water a bit. During this 5-day express trip, I only interacted with the owner of the lodge where I stayed, with a man I met in the area of Los Tres Escalones and then with these dogs. Not as social as other times, but happy anyway 💕.
Pero ese mediodía, yo no era la única que andaba rondando por ese lugar. Mientras comía mi almuerzo, dos amigos un poco hambrientos también se acercaron a mí. Mi sanguche no era tan grande, pero igual alcanzó un poco para los tres. Estos perros se quedaron conmigo en todo el tiempo que estuve ahí y también me acompañaron hasta el rio a tocar un poco el agua. En todo lo que duró este viaje express de 5 días, solo interactué con la dueña de la hostería en donde me quedé, con un hombre que conocí en la zona de Los Tres Escalones y luego con estos perritos. No tan social como otras veces, pero conforme de todas formas 💕.

It's pretty crazy to me to think that by before September I was a person who was still hesitant about traveling alone to places. It only took one ride for me to realize how comfortable this mode is, and of course my horizons expanded a lot. Now I feel like I can go anywhere, even to places I didn't have in mind, like this town. I have very nice memories of my stay in Barreal and I'm glad I went to see those landscapes with my own eyes: not even the best photo could capture all that beauty 💕.
Me resulta muy loco pensar que para antes de Septiembre yo era una persona que todavía dudaba sobre viajar sola a los lugares. Solo bastó un paseo para que me diera cuenta lo cómoda que es esta modalidad, y por supuesto mis horizontes se expandieron un montón. Ahora siento que puedo ir a cualquier lado, incluso a unos que no tenía tan en mente, como este pueblo. Me llevo muy lindos recuerdos de mi estadía en Barreal y me alegra haber ido para ver esos paisajes con mis propios ojos: ni siquiera la mejor foto pudo capturar toda esa belleza 💕.
